Meet Your New Baker!

My name is Tori Lowell and I'm the owner, baker, and pretty much everything else for Petites Miettes. Like a lot of people, I ended up with a bunch of extra time in 2020. I had been slowly starting my business since 2019 and when I took a leave of absence from my job I decided it was finally time to buckle down and get my act together. I started working on my Cottage Food application and extensively testing recipes in April 2020 and by September 2020 my application was approved and I started selling.

Having a Cottage Food business means that I can bake out of my home kitchen. I'm licensed through the Orange County Health Department and also have my ServSafe food handlers card.

Come see me at the Farmakis Farms Farmers Market!

I'm there every Friday from 9-1

Don't forget to order a cake for your next event!

A bit about me:

  • I graduated from Johnson & Wales University - Denver with a BSBA in Entrepreneurship ('12) and an AS in Baking & Pastry ('13)
  • Owning a baking business has been a dream of mine since I was in middle school
  • My favorite Thing to bake is bread. I worked for Panera for a while and I absolutely love the smell of freshly baked bread (I mean, who doesn't)
  • I chose the name Petites Miettes (small crumbs, in French) for my business because I want people to think of me for every occasion not just the big ones. I make small crumbs for all occasions
  • I've been making my own birthday cake since I was about 10 years old. My first birthday cake I made all by myself was a chocolate cake with a peanut butter filling, chocolate frosting, and covered in peanut butter cups
  • Since then, I've gone on to make cakes for family birthdays, baby showers, weddings, and everything in between
  • I can't wait to bake for you!
